It provides music - entertainment and says what the song is - info. It’s even touchscreen! Why would you need anything else? I thought about getting one of those fancy head units with Bluetooth and a big touchscreen but decided I really have no use for one. Hell I still occasionally print out maps for navigation. Or just guess and drive around in circles for a bit which is also fun

Many years ago I took my parents Pontiac Transport on a long road trip. I used my full size road atlas and laid it up on the dashboard with some double sided tape on it. Each state I had my routes highlighted and since the dash was so big the thing just lay there with the map reflected in the windshield - the ultimate NAV HUD! I just had to turn the page when I changed states...

I have long considered the fact that my phone can do everything I’d want a head unit to do and more, so I went cheap stealth mode in my Scout. Cheap amp in the glove box, cheap Bluetooth receiver feeding straight into the amp, cheap phone holder stuck to the dash. Works perfectly.
